Since 1889, the Ferrer family have been producing superior quality Cava, the result of years of dedicated exceptional skill and loving care. Cava is the name given to quality sparkling wine, produced from a blend of three Spanish varieties, Macabeo, Paralleda and Xarel-lo. The sparkle and flavour develop in the bottle as it ages in cool, dark underground cellars. Sant Sadurni d’Anoia is the home and heart of Freixenet, situated near Barcelona, this is an area of great beauty with a fabulous climate for wine-making.
